9036. MARY WHEELER, daughter. of Benjamin (9013) and Elizabeth ( ) Wheeler. Born in Prince George's County, Md., Nov. 5, 1710; died in Columbia County, Ga., 1779. Married in Baltimore County, Md., 1743, William Few. They removed first to North Carolina and then to Georgia.

Children:

  • BENJAMIN FEW, died in Alabama in 1805. He became a Colonel of Militia in the Revolution.
  • JAMES FEW, bora in Baltimore Co., Md., 1746. He jBgures in the history of North Carolina as the hero of the battle of Alamance, the first organized resistance offered by the Colonists to British misrule. He was executed by Governor Tyron on the battle field of Alamance, May 17, 1771.
  • ELIZABETH FEW, married Benjamin Andrew.
  • WILLIAM FEW, bora in Baltimore Co., Md., June 8, 1748; d. at Fishkill-on-the-Hudson, N. Y., July 16, 1828; m. Catherine Nicholson, dau. of Commodore James Nicholson. He was a Lieutenant-Colonel of Militia during the Revolution, and subsequently became a Member of the Continental Congress from Georgia, a Member of the Constitutional Convention, and later a Senator from Georgia.

  • IGNATIUS FEW, born in Maryland, Aug. 20, 1750; d. in Columbia Co., Ga., Feb. 18, 1810; m. Mary Chandler. He was a Captain of Militia in the Revolution.
