Nathanael Greene married (2), April 18, 1739, Mary, daughter of Jacob and Rest (Perry) Mott, born April 25, 1708, died March 7, 1753. She was the mother of Major-General Nathanael Greene of the Revolutionary army. Her father was Deputy from Portsmouth, R. I., 1705-9, and her grandfather, Jacob Mott, senior, served as Deputy in 1674.
