Mary Hagar

Joseph Bemis, immigrant ancestor, born in England, 1619, came to Watertown, Massachusetts, as early as 1640, and died there August 7, 1684. He was accompanied by his sister Mary, who married at Watertown, March 20, 1644-5, William Hagar.

Willyam Hagar and Mary bemis maryd the the 20 of March : and their Daughter mary was born the 25 of December.

Children:

i. Mary, born December 25, 1645; probably died young.

2. Ruhanah, born November 20, 1647; married Joseph Waight.

3. Samuel (twin), born November 20, 1647 ; died February 13, 1703-4.

4. Hannah (ancestor of President Calvin Coolidge), born November 21, 1649; married Priest.

5. Sarah, born September 3, 1651 : died March 7, 1746; married, March 12, 1673-4, Nathaniel Whitney (sp?).

6. Susannah, married, about 1680, Joseph Grout (sp?).

7. William, born February 12, 1658-9; mentioned below.

8. Rebecca (our line), born October 28, 1661 ; married, July 14, 1681, Nathaniel Heely.

9. Abigail, married, March 30, 1687, Benjamin Whitney.

10. Mehitable, married, June 20, 1687, Nathaniel Norcross ; died April 5, 1691.

Rebecca, 17 Apr. 1654;
Ephraim, again, 25 Aug. 1656;
John, Aug. 1659. He was often selectman and d. 7 Aug. 1684, which is the date of his will. His widow lived prob. to 1712.
