Biography

Mary Horton married Zacheus Goldsmith on 2 Jan 1705 in Southold Long Island. Just over a year later (22 Jan 1706) Zacheus died. His will was dated 5 days earlier declares "If my wife should happen to be with child...". It seems she was, giving birth to a daughter, Mary, later that year. She remarried to her first cousin, David Horton, in February 1707.

Mary's father, Capt. Jonathan Horton wrote his will 23 Feb 1706/7.

According to Helen Brundage Fisher, Mary Horton, b. 1687, d. 1749, wed her cousin David in 1696. She was the daughter of Capt. Jonathan Horton and Bertha Wells Horton.

My (George Brundage's) Aunt, Helen Brundage Fisher, prepared a paper for her granddaughter entitled: Fisher and Brundage for Tova A. F., who was her granddaughter. Tova's ancestors were Brundages, Barneys, Fishers. On page 24 is the statement about Mary Horton marrying her cousin David.
