Henry was Justice of the Peace, and owned land in the Towns of Southold and Brookhaven. The subject of the marriage date of Henry and Bethia is discussed in Keith's Ancestry of Benjamin Harrison. The daughter Rebecca attributed to Henry, in Moore's Indexes of Southold Genealogies, is doubtless only an error of type, as Henry's will (Lib. 17, p. 118, N. Y. City Wills) cited as authority, does not contain the word Rebecca. Issue, all of Southold Town:...........

They had six children: Mary, Eliphaz, Mehitable, Azariah, Lazarus, and Ambrose Horton, born between 1708-20. Of these, Azariah, a graduate of Yale College, was missionary to the L. I. Indians, and ancestor of the Rev. Theodore L. Cuyler, of Brooklyn,* while Lazarus Horton, b. 1717, m. Ann Corey (David, Isaac, John).

Will of Jonathan Horton - NY Historical Society Collection, vol. II pp.4-6. It is dated 21 Feb 1707, proved 2 Jun 1708. "His wife and sons Jonathan and William were named executors. ...His wife Bethiah is also mentioned to receive support."
Capt. Jonathan Horton married Bethia Wells Horton in 1672 in Southold, NY. Jonathan was the son of Barnabas Horton & his 3rd wife Mary Langton Horton. Jonathan was Barnabas's youngest son & the heir of the original family homestead. Jonathan held several public offices, most frequently as the town overseer. He was a military man, often being called captain in public records. Children of Jonathan & Bethia Wells Horton: 1. Caleb was born in 1673 & died in infancy. 2. Bethia was born in 1674 & died 3/16/1744. She married Henry Tuthill. 3. Barnabas was born in 1675 & died 11/15/1705. He married Elizabeth Burnett. 4. Caleb (2) was born about 1676 & died 12/25/1706. He married Abigail Hallock on 12/23/1696. Abigail died 4/7/1697. He married (2) after 1698, but this wife's name is unknown. 5. william was born in 1677 & died the 26th or 27th of 9/1728. He married Christian Youngs on 12/31/1702. He married (2) Mary, who died 1/11/1753. 6. Mehitable was born 2/16/1679 & died 9/7/1757. She married Christopher Bradley. Her 2nd husband was Deacon Daniel Tuthill in 1705.Tuthill was born 1/23/1679 & died 12/7/1762. 7. Abigail was born in 1681. Her death date is unknown. She married ? Lyon. Her 2nd husband was David Brewster& settled in Ornage County, NY. 8. Jonathan Jr was born 12/23/1683 & died 4/2/1768. He married Mary Tuthill on 11/27/1707. Mary was born in 1687 & died 3/4/1780. 9. Mary was born about 1687 & died 9/11/1749. She married Zacheus Goldsmith on 1/2/1707. Goldsmith was born 11/13/1685 & died 1/22-year unknown. In 2/1708, she married (2nd) David Horton. David was bornabout 1687 & died 9/11/1749. 10. Patience was born in 1692 & her death date is unknown. 11. James was born in 1694 & died 5/16/1762 & died 5/16/1762. He married Anna Goldsmith on 12/3/1717. Goldsmith was born 1/1/1701 & died 5/16/1762.
