About Mary Lewis

Layed to rest at Sweet Spring WV , in Lewis family cemetery with her husband, the Friend and soldier, of George Washington, as an officer at Brandywine, & Monmouth, & Valley Forge, John Lewis. and her sibling Lettita Floyd (Preston) and her husband Gov. John Floyd, along with many of both sides of families. To me, the area is where the WV motto, "Almost Heaven, West Virginia", came from, a place were the heavens still acutely reach down and hug the mountains. The stories the trees must have? Please visit the Lewisburg, West Virginia, Historical Society. The city is named after Andrew Lewis, brother of John Lewis 's Dad William Lewis ..William and wife Ann are also buried here with son John. Mary Lewis (Preston), has a Beautiful Black Dress, with other small items, on display. Sincerely, J. Floyd. .^^^
