John Dorman's book Adventurers of purse and Person fourth edition volume two, page 559 says this, "Mary Lewis died 1748. She married, 14 Aug. 1730, Robert Throckmorton, died 20 Aug. 1770 in his 66th year, of Ware Parish, Gloucester County, colonel of militia, who married 2nd sarah Cooke, daughter of Morcedai Cooke and Sarah Smith.”
MARY LEWIS was NOT one of the eight proven children of John LEWIS, the Councillor and his wife Elizabeth WARNER. Her birth was not recorded in the Abingdon Parish register nor was her burial recorded at Warner Hall.
She was, however, the daughter of John Lewis of Ware, Gloucester, Virginia.
