She was a mid-wife. She moved to Shelby County, Illinois in 1831 to live with her son Conrad.
She was the daughter of Conrad and Catherine Caty Hermen, Herman, (Harmon) Wall. Her husband was John T. Hanson Jr. They were married April 17 1783 in Botetourt Co. Virginia USA. The licenses was issued April 10 "The marriage of Mary and John Hanson was witnessed by Catey Wall (Mary's mother) and Margaret Wall. Conrad (her father) signed consent. Surety was Patrick Lickhart. Ministers return; John Hanson and Mary Wall, md. 16 April 1783 by Edward Crawford. Mary and John moved to Ashe Valley, near Lansing, NC by 1785. By 1799, they had gone over the mountain to Carter Co., Tenn. Later, this family moved by way of the Wilderness Road, into Ky, down the Ky. River to Vencennes, Indiana and North to where they settled on the border between Monroe and Lawrence Counties, Indiana, the same area where her brother Adam moved."
