BIOGRAPHY

Mary Agnes HALLETT was born c1776.

Mary married Captain Abraham MARTIN on June 1, 1797. Together they had the following children:

• 1802 William Joseph.

On 9 August 1909 in Surrey Assizes, Mary was convicted of "Larceny in a dwelling house" and was sentenced to transportation for life. She arrived in Sydney on 8/9/1810 on "Canada", and her son accompanied her.

In 1814 Mary was a schoolmistress at Toongabbie.

In July 1815 Mary travelled to Tasmania on "Emu"

Mary married Thomas FITZGERALD on July 30, 1815. Together they had the following children:

• 1817 Matilda
• 1818 Thomas

Thomas died in 1818

Mary was a schoolmistress in Tasmania from 1815 to 1824

Mary married William Melmer NICHOLS Snr on December 23, 1829 in Clarence, Tasmania, Australia.

Mary died in July 1831 in Tasmania, Australia.
