About Mary Matlack
Grave Marker Inscription " Within this inclosure is the remains of William and Mary Matlack who came to west New Jersey from England,William in 1677 and Mary in 1681, the first of the name the ancestors of the family in America. Here also lies the remains of Richard Matlack,a son of William and Mary and part of his children Also a number of the servants and slaves of the family.

In 1681 the ship "Paradise" brought a body of colonists, among whom were Timothy Hancock and his sister Mary, from Warwickshire.
Mary married William Matlock, who came in the "Kent." Timothy settled on a tract of 100 acres of land in Burlington County, between the forks of the Pensauken Creek, about two miles from the present town of Moorestown.
