Biography

Mary Andrews, daughter of Willam Andrews and Mary Chandler, was born born 14 Jan 1649/50 at New Haven, New Haven Colony, died after 1725.

Mary (probably) married twice.

  1. on 10 Aug 1676 in Saybrook, Connecticut to John “the tailor” Pratt (born about 1648 d died in 1694). His parents are not known.
  2. after 1694 probably) to Joseph Parker (1647-1725), son of William Parker and Margaret Pritchard. He was Hannah Gilbert’s widower. Mary was his widow in 1725.

Mary was named “Mary Parker” in Mary (Chandler) Shipman’s estate records.

Not to be confused with John Pratt who married Sarah Jones. There were two men by this name in Saybrook, and were distinguished by the terms "Ensign" and "Tailor"[1]

John "Tailor" Pratt married Mary Andrews August 10, 1676 in Saybrook.[2]Their children were Mary, Martha, Daniel, Jonathan, Hannah & John.
