Mary Shipman was not the daughter of Samuel Chandler and Margaret Chandler
Mary Chandler was born say 1635, probably in England, and died before August 30, 1704 (probate) in Saybrook, Connecticut, as the widow of Edward Shipman (d. 1697). Her origins are not known.
