About Mary E Shute
aka Marry A
Mary was born a Sharp and married Samuel C Murphy in 1828; both were of Woodbury Dam. Samuel died not long after, leaving her a widow.
Mary's second marriage:
"this is to certefy to all whome it may Concern that on the 24 day of March 1833 personly appeared before me John Walker Elder in the Methodist E Church, Mr David B Shute and Miss Marry A Murphy, both of Gloucester County, N Jersey and was lawfully joined in Matrimony as witness my hand. -- John Walker"

Mary is buried in the Methodist Episcopal Churchyard in Clarksboro, next to her husband David and their two youngest children, Louisa and Elwood, who died as infants.
Methodist Episcopal Churchyard is now Zion United Methodist Church, located on Kings Highway at Shady Lane; present building built 1883.
