From The Peake Family in South Australia by Andrew Guy Peake 1972.
Edward's first child was a doughter Mary Agnes, born on the 25th July 1869 at Naracoorte. In 1901 she married Edward Augustus Butler Stoney who was living on a fruit block at Coonawarra, to the south of Naracoorte. Edward Stoney was son of James Butler Stoney of Middlesex and had emigrated to Australia via India. In India he had been appointed District Engineer of the Burdwon region in 1886.
Edward's father, James, was one of the original members of the religious sect that became popularly known as the plymouth Brethern, from the town where the religion originated. For many years Mary was a teacher at Naracoorte.
