About Mary White

Mary White, born in Bootle in 1908. Mary became a shop assistant, but later in life, the Supervisor of Female Staff for the Grattan Wail Order Company. <p></p> <p>Mary White married William Knott in 1935, in Liverpool. William was from a Nott family of Worcester origins. on the day before the wedding he lost his job as manager of his butchers shopafter the closure of several in the chain. <p></p> <p>After two years as a dock repairers labourer he moved to Leicester to work at the Imperial Typewriters where he became an Inspector.</p> <p></p> <p>There was one child of the marriage, Thomas Hugh Knott, born in 1936. Shortly after William's retirement in 1971 Imperial Type-writers Ltd ceased trading.</p> <p></p> <p>Mary. was born at 5 Eleanor Road in Orrell, Bootte, but claimed to be born in Walton</p>
