Notes for Mary Yarborough(?): Mary's maiden name of Yarborough or Yarbrough has never been proven and it is not known exactly where it originated. However, there is a Surry County, NC, marriage record for a James Caudle and Mary Yarbrough on January 22, 1849. This James Caudle was born ca. 1823 and was the son of William and Gracie (Broadway) Caudle (reference "Appalachia Crossroads: The Caudill Family", pages 2036 and 2039). It is not known at this time how this James Caudle connects with James Caudill, Sr., if indeed he does at all.
