Mary A. Young

Mary and Cyrus were married 8 March 1887 in North Lawrence, Lawrence Township, Stark Co., OH.

Mrs. Mary A. Young, 71, died late Sunday night at her residence, one mile north of Dublin school, R.D. 2, following a sudden illness. Mrs. Young was a life resident of the vicinity in which she lived. She is the widow of Osro Young.

She is survived by three daughters, the Misses Caroline, Mary and Margaret Young, at home; two sons, Edward Young, of Beech Grove, and Alvin Young, at home, and a brother, Edward F. Christman, of West Branch, Mich.

A private funeral will be held at the residence Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Mr. Hawk, of Wadsworth, officiating. Interment will be made in Newman Creek chapel cemetery.

The body will be removed to the residence from the Griffith funeral home Tuesday morning, where it may be viewed by friends until time of the funeral.

Religion: She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon, Ohio. She had strict standards for herself and her children. My mother told me if she found them playing with cards, she would throw them in the stove and burn them. She only let my mom and her sister, Mary, go to Arthur Murray dance lessons for my aunt's physical therapy for her polio.
