Mrs. Matilda Rigg

Mrs. Matilda Rigg, 87, well known Bracken resident, died Thursday at 7:30 a. m. at the home of her son, John Rigg, of the Belmont road. She had been bedfast for the past three weeks and death was attributed to infirmities of age.

Born January 15, 1877, in Bracken county, the deceased was the daughter of the late John S. Hitt and Sarah Jefferson Hitt. Her husband, William T. Rigg, died 25 years ago.

A member of the Methodist church, Mrs. Rigg was highly regarded by a host of friends who will be sorrowed to learn of her passing.

She is survived only by one son. Two daughters, Mrs. Millard Taylor and Mrs. Edith Mullikin, died several years ago.

The deceased also leaves a brother, H. O. Hitt of Mt. Olivet, and one sister, Mrs. Tim Kerns of Sharpsburg.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. from Fosters Chapel in Robertson county, Burial was made int he church cemetary, under the direction of Moore and Parker funeral home.
