About Matthew Patrick
There is strong evidence that the Patricks came from Ulster with a group headed by Rev. John Boyd. It was reported that Robert was Matthew's brother who settled in Rutland, MA. It appears that Matthew emigrated to Boston with his wife and all of his children except two in 1720. They eventually settled in Voluntown, CT where they founded a Presbyterian Church.
According to Jennie Patrick, Matthew "took" the land from the Indians which became the family residence. He was a handyman by trade and his home is supposedly a preserved historical landmark building site.
