He commended his soul to God and directed that his body should be buried in the parish of Cossington. To his brother John Webster he left 3 lamb hogs, to his brother-in-law James Aston 3 lamb hogs and to his sister Margaret Webster one ewe and one lamb. The remainder of estate he divided in four equal parts: one part to his son John at the age of 21; the other three parts he left between his daughters Fayth and Anis at the their marriage or at the age of 21 years. He applinted his wife Elizabeth sole executrix and guardian of his children, and he made Mr. Babington and Mr. Boothe supervisors of his will. Witnesses: Matt. Babington, Hugh Boothe, John Aston. 1

John Webster, taken at Leicester 2 Aug 1615.The jury say that John was seised in his demesne as of fee of a messuage & 3 virgates of land, meadow & pasture in Cossington. By his deed dated 16 Apr 1587, & in consideration of a marriage between Matthew Webster, his son & heir apparent, and Elisabeth Aston, the daughter of John Aston of Woodborowe, co. Notts., gent., he granted to Matthew Babington of Cossington, gent., & Hugh Bothe, clerk, rector of the church of Cossington, the above premises, to hold to them, their heirs & assigns, to the uses in the deed specified, viz., one virgate to the use of Matthew Webster & Elisabeth & the lawful male issue of Matthew, in default to the right heirs of the said John, the residue of the property to the use of John Webster & his assigns, then to the use of Matthew & his male issue, et. Matthew took the said Elisabeth to wife & by her had issue John Webster his eldest son. Matthew Webster died on 13 Sep 1592. Elisabeth survived Matthew & was solely seised of the virgate. John Webster died 12 Oct 1594. John Webster, son of Matthew, is kinsman & next heir and was aged 4 y, 1m & 28 days in 1594 at John Webster's death. The premises were held of Queen Elisabeth, as of her manor of East Greenwich, co. Kent, by fealty only, in free socage & worth 10 s.
