"MELCHIOR HUBNER, M.D., b. about 1668 in Laubgrund, Silesia; d. July 12, 1738, was the son of George Hubner and Maria John. His grandmother was a sister of Dr. Martin John, Jr.

From the 12th year of his age Melchior Hubner lived with Dr. Martin John in Hockenau until the death of Dr. John, and studied medicine with him.

Dr. Melchior Hubner m. Maria WIEGNER, b. ?, d. Sept. 28, 1739, dau. of Matthias Wiegner of O. Hdrf. They left Silesia with their two children on Apr. 29, 1726 and came to Pa. in 1734, but only one child, George, is accounted for in Pa.

Dr. Melchior Hubner had a brother, George, who d. Oct. 28, 1740, in the "Feldhauser," Silesia. Dr. Hubner lived in Frederick Twp., Montg. Co., Pa., probably with his son George. There is no evidence that he owned property.

According to tradition, Dr. Hubner and wife are buried in a plot adjoining the Henry Antes burial plot in Frederick Twp. on his own grounds in "Falckner Schwam.""
