  • Josiah BARNES (son of Michael BARNES died in 1808) his two daughters received $50 each. I believe the property to be divided were the slaves and personal possessions. I think this is why Jacob BARNES had Michael BARNES heirs sign the bill of sale giving a clear title to the slaves in DB "S" page 42 to James CLIBORN. John BARNES (Michael BARNES son) Jacob BARNES (Michael BARNES son) James BARNES (Michael BARNES son) James HILL (son-in-law) married Appy Elizabeth ROWLAND (Michael BARNES daughter) William THOMPSON (son-in-law) Martha Newett PITMAN (son-in-law) Milly BARNES (Michael BARNES wife) It looks to me as if Newet PITMAN was married Susanna BARNES. Newet PITMAN lived next to Michael BARNES as did William THOMPSON. What do you think? Myra Caroline Sims < myrac sims @yahoo.com >June 2003
