: THE ILLINOIS AND OTHER DESCENDANTS OF MICHAEL FREDERICK SEE WHO CAME FROM PRUSSIAN SILESIS, IN 1734, by Thomas J.J. See "(iv) MICHAEL SEE III, NANCY GREENLEE, Michael See III, after the killing of his father by the Indians about 1790 continued to reside near Point Pleasant; and in 1806 married Nancy Greenlee, and there brought up a large family, five sons and four daughters, namely: Shull M. See, John, Kenry, Michael, and Frederick; Jane, Elizabeth, Minerva and Frances.After Michael See III, who was born April 1, 1785, only about two years before his Father was killed by the Indians, grew up to manhood, he was largely occupied with shipping on the Ohio River; and in trying to save a cargo of salt which he had bought and was taking from Charleston to Cincinnati in the year 1827, he worked so hard that he became greatly overheated, and died from the effects of over exertion, Sept. 10, 1827. His widow, Nancy Greenlee See, with all of the children, afterwards moved to Marion Co. Ill., where most of them left families. Shull M. See, the eldest son, married Miss Mart Day at Point Pleasant, VA., and Charles Michael See was born there in 1841; but in 1846 Shull M. See followed the rest of the family..."
