Mirable Hovell als Smyth

Myrable (1550), married (at Wetheringsett, 21st June 1563 IGI) Robert Hovel alias Smith of Ashfield;

When "Gelyan" died (probate dated 28th July 1552), the executor of her will (dated 27th March 1551-52) was her son Robert Knappe (who had married Margaret Poley), and the several references therein to "son's child" etc mean "Robert's child". The chief beneficiaries were as follows:

... “ Myrable Knappe, son's [Robert] daughter -- (£6. 13s. 4d. at marriage; featherbed; 2 pairs of sheets);

The fifth daye of April, 1631, Mirrable Hovell als Smyth of Ashfield Magna in the Countie of Suff : widdowe. To the eight children of my sonne J ohn Smyth, viz : J ohn, Martha, Elizabeth, Marie, Symon, Rachell, Oliffe, and William, at their ages of one and twentie yeares. To the five children of my sonne Edmond Smyth, Elizabeth, Marie, Robert, Abigale and Lydia. To the three children of my sonne Thomas Smyth, Elizabeth, Deborah and Hannah at their severall ages of one and twentie yeares. To Robert Smyth eldest sonne of my sonne Robert Smyth and Elizabeth Gibbon widdowe his sister. My daughter Baker's seven children, viz : John, Elizabeth,, William, Richard, Anne, Sarah and Marie Baker, when twenty one. My said daughter Elizabeth Baker, widowe, to be sole executrix.
