"Madison Courier 10 June 1868
Moody Park, for many years a citizen of Madison, died at his residence on Third street, early Wednesday morning, after an illness of several months. Mr. Park was a man of marked integrity and worth and enjoyed the universal confidence and respect of his fellow citizens, by whom he was chosen in years gone by to occupy numerous responsible places within their gift. Among the offices he filled was that of Mayor of the city. Few men that have lived among us have made a better record in the common walks of life, and few have gone down to the grave more sincerely deplored. We presume those who knew him best, loved him most; for our own part, though not enjoying a very intimate acquaintance with the deceased, we regarded him ever as "an honest man", the noblest work of God." Peace to the memory of MOODY PARK--sweet be the flowers that bloom o'er his honored grave!"
Moody Park was also an inventor, patenting a new water filter in 1836. See US Patent # 39.
