Morris Blafer

Morris and Fannie Blafer took their children and grandchildren on a cruise to Mexico over the Christmas school recess of 1983 in celebration of their 50th marriage anniversary. A few weeks after the cruise, Morris developed a cough. It persisted. He was admitted to the hospital in February and died on February 12th. The cause of death was congested heart failure.

When Morris was a child, in Russia, he had 'bronchitis'. the inflammation caused lung adhesions Whenever he had a chest x-ray, it was usual that the doctor would ask if he had had tuberculosis, which also leaves lung adhesions. He would inform them of his childhood illness. It would appear that the adhesions may have contributed to his death. Fortunately, they did not cause him problems during his life.

In the Fall of 1960, Morris had a heart attack and was hospitalized for a few days for an apparent myocardial infarction. He lived for 22 years after that incident. He was healthy in his later life. His weight was normal, he ate a healthy diet, and he exercised/walked daily. His death was unexpected.
