A Patriot of the American Revolution for MASSACHUSETTS with the rank of CORPORAL. DAR Ancestor # A000678
CORPORAL MOSES, b. in Newbury, Nov. 6, 1737 ; m. [pub. at Falmouth, June 22,1761-J, Susanna Merrill, daughter of James and Mary (Adams) Merrill [his cousin). He was a Corporal in Capt. Samuel Noyes’ Co., Col. Phinney’s 31st Reg., enlisted from Falmouth, May 6, 1775, and marched to headquarters July 13. On Nov. 30, 1813; Moses Adams of Falmouth, gent., conveyed 60 acres of land in Falmouth to his son, Moses, Jr., it being the whole of that part of my home farm on which I now dwell. which lies to the southeast of the town road and the county road. In Dec., 1813, he is called a yeoman of Falmouth, and deeds to his son, Isaac, yeoman of Falmouth, “ 50 acres or the whole of that part of the home farm on which I now dwell, which lies on the north-west side of the county road, bounded on the southwest by land of my son, Moses, Jr., and land of Nathan Merrill, and on the southeast by ’ the road,” referring to deed made by his honored father, John Adams on Sept. 14, 1774.
