BIRTH: Maybe as late as 1740. Antrim Parish part of Brunswick Co. in this time period. INDENTURE: .. made 15th day of October, 1772, between William MAGBIE of the County of Halifax (Virginia) and William Dobbie of the County of Halifax... for consideration of the sum of 225 Pounds Virginia money.. grants land received by settlers patent 20 August 1760 and 14 February 1761, and deed from Daniel Williams 5 March 1762, containing 770 acres. William (M) Magbie, S.S. his mark MILITARY SERVICE: He served as a Corporal, North Carolina Militia in Granville County, (10-8-1754), [Vol. 22, p. 370-380, NC State Records]. REMARKS: Lived in Green Co., North Carolina circa 1780-1783. From C. Red McBEE is the following notation (11-29-1981); and from Roy H. Hall, Dallas TX, (10-05-1979), the following notations on the settlers in Washington Co., Tennessee (ca. 1780-1798) came: 1. Samuel McBEE, from Anson Co. NC (there in 1756). 2. William McBEE, Sold three farms in Washington Co. TN, Feb 1788 on Knob Creek; 152.0 acres to Samuel Denton; 132.0 acres to John Keen; 117.5 acres to Thomas Gibson. Then he removed to Knox Co. TN and purchased land from 18 different people, and operated a ferry on the Holston River. 3. James McBEE, signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration (20 May 1775), with Christopher SNEAD, who witnessed the will of William McBEE of Halifax Co., Virginia in 1759. 4. Laban McBEE.
