Thomas King ( born c1866) is listed as # 1666 on the 1907 Wooster Roll where he is identified as the son of William King # 1647. His recorded traditional name "Wassegewan" was translated on the roll as "Swift rapids" but that translation requires scrutiny and comment by those with expertise in nuances of the Anishinaabemowin language and Potawatomi culture. In 1907 when Thomas King was age 41 he was a resident of the District of Parry Sound, Ontario but not necessarily Parry Island. The District of Parry Sound includes the Town of Parry Sound, several First Nations communities and many non Native communities so the actual residence of Thomas King in 1907 is unclear. He held NO rights in Canada.
