Ex-Rockford Resident Summoned in Omaha

Mrs. Louise Nordin, 88, a resident of Rockford for many years, died at 10 p.m. Friday in the Emmanuel lnvalids' Home at Omaha, Neb., where she had resided since 1934. She had suffered from arthritis for the last 26 years.

The former Christina Louise Holmberg was born March 20, 1858, in Sweden, the daughter of Peter and Mary Holmberg, and at the age of eight came to the USA with her parents, three brothers and a sister The family settled in Pecatonica and a few years later moved to Rockford.

Mrs. Nordin was confirmed in First Lutheran Church here and had been a member since that time. She was married Dec 17 1884 to Aaron Nordin by the Rev. Gustaf Peters at First Lutheran Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Nordin resided on farms near Rockford for 29 years and in 1913 moved to 1712 Kishwaukee Street, where Mrs. Nordin lived until she moved to Omaha in 1934. Her husband died here Feb. 17, 1927.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ella Wuellner, Sunman, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Ray Erickson and Mrs. Elmer Vett, both of Rockford, Harold Nordin, Rockford, serving with the army in Germany, Donald Blair, Monroe Center, Mrs. Roy Norman, Chicago, Roy Beers, Rockton, and Mrs. George Hettinger, Linn Grove, Iowa.; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, August Holmberg, Chicago, and several nieces and nephews living in Rockford.

In addition to her husband, five children and a grandson, Maynard Beers, preceded her in death.

Arrangements for funeral services, which will be held here and at which the Rev. Albert Loreen, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate, are incomplete. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. (Rockford, Illinois, April 24, 1946.) _________________________________ "Rockford Morning Star"

Services for Mrs. Louise Nordin, 88, former Rockford resident who died Friday night in the Emmanuel lnvalids' home at Omaha, Neb., will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilbur Christenson funeral home, 925 3rd Avenue. The Rev. Sjogren, assistant pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 3 o'clock tonight.
