Murdock Beag married Nellie Robertson, a daughter of Mr. Robertson who was clerk for the Kirk Sessions of Barra. She was a convert. The issue of this marriage was:
- Hector (Dubh), who married Annie Jane, daughter of Paul Marmau, of Arichat. They had a large family, one of whom, Jane, became a nun.
- John (Murdock) married Ann, daughter of Rory McNeil (Neil).
- Michael married Mary, another daughter of Rory McNeil.
- Ann married John McDonald (Soldier) of Grand Narrows.
- Mary married Sandy McNeil of Big Beach.
- Peggie married Paul McLean (Neil), Washabuck.
- Lucy married Michael McNeil (Eoin), Washabuck.
- Sarah married Hector McLean (Neil), Washabuck.
- Michael (Gobha) settled at Iona, and married Jane Mclntyre, of Big Pond, a daughter of Iain Gobha. Their son Rory was merchant at Grand Narrows, and married to Josephine C. McNeil, daughter of Norman McNeil (Malcolm), of Arichat. No issue.
- Malcolm was a blacksmith.
- Sarah and Catherine were telegraph operators.
