"Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Myrtle Kunz Steckler 82, died on December 30, 1981. Born May 15, Bern, Bear Lake County, Idaho to William John and Annie Schmid Kunz. She married Frank A. Steckler, November 22, 1929 in the Logan Temple, later divorced. Served an LDS Mission in California from 1925-1927. Active in the LDS Church all of her life. Served as Postmaster in Bern, Idaho for 30 years. Survivors: one son, one daughter, Wayne Steckler, South Jordan; Mrs. Kalevi (Dianne) Rasi-Koskinen, Sandy; nine grandchildren; five great-grandsons, one brother, three sisters, Willard R. Kunz, Mrs. Louis (Libby) Eshler, Mrs. Louise (Sylvia) Kunz, all of Montpelier, Idaho; Mrs. Alfred (Ivy) Jensen, Ovid, Idaho; preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Benjamin W., Joseph J., Leslie A., Mabel Thomas, Sophie Bateman. Funeral services Saturday, 3:00 PM at the Bern LDS Ward, Bern, Idaho, where friends may call Saturday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Interment, Bern Cemetery." Courtesy of the Deseret News 12/31/1981.
