About Nancy Maxson
Conflicting birth date March 17, 1781
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 18, No 30, p 119, July 24, 1862.
At the residence of her son, Wm. Maxson, in Pawcatuck, R. I., on Fifth-day, July 10, 1862, Mrs. Nancy Maxson, widow of Jonathan Maxson, aged 81 years. Mrs. Maxson was a daughter of George Potter, formerly of Potter Hill, R. I., and was connected with a numerous family of that name. In early life she made a profession of religion, having been baptized, when seventeen years of age, by Eld. Asa Coon, and joined the First Hopkinton Church. When the Pawcatuck Church was constituted, she became a member of it, and continued so until her death. For several years past, her mind had been somewhat obscured; and those who remember her as she was formerly, will feel that for her it was “better to depart” to a land where the veil is lifted from all eyes.
