Mrs. Nancy McBrayer Pioneer of Mesa Is Dead at Tempe Home
Mrs. Nancy Jane McBrayer, 86, of Tempe, mother of Mrs. Rose Arline, who died last Wednesday passed away at 7 o'clock last night at the home of her daughter, Ida Elice Fogal of Tempe, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. McBrayer was a pioneer of Mesa, having resided here for 42 years. She was a member of a band of early settlers who were among the first to settle here from Utah.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter, William and John and Marconi of Imperial Valley, California, and the daughter of Tempe. Mrs. McBrayer had 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the third Ward chapel. Burial will be in Mesa cemetery.

The 1900 census says she was the mother of 8 children, 7 of whom were living at the time of the census.
In the 1920 census, Nancy was living with her son, who gave his name as Phillip C Maroni to the census enumerator.
In the 1930 census, Nancy was living with her daughter Rose, and her family in Maricopa Co., AZ.
