About Nancy Palmer
Mrs. Nancy Crosby was the granddaughter of frontiersman Daniel Boone. She was killed, along with her child, in the Great Raid of 1840 led by Comanche war chief Buffalo Hump.
Her death, and relationship to Daniel Boone, is mentioned in the book "Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History" by S. C. Gwynne.
