6. Naomi Hoyt was born on 23 Jan 1654/5 in Newbury. [Ref] [Ref, p. 56] She married first John Lovejoy on 23 Mar 1677/8 in Andover. [Ref, p. 56] He died on 14 Jul 1680 [Ref, 8;56] in Andover. [Ref][Ref, p. 55] Naomi Lovejoy, administratrix of her deceased husband's estate, presented his inventory to court on 30 Nov 1680. [Ref, 8;56]

Naomi Lovejoy was fined for fornication with Benjamin Abbott in Jun 1683. [Ref, 9;59] In 1684, they had an illegitimate daughter [Ref, 9;427] in Andover.

She married second Richard Stratton after 1684. [Ref, p. 56] Richard was the son of Samuel and Mary (Frye) Stratton. [Ref, p. 56]

Naomi HOYT was born on 23 JAN 1655 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.

Parents: Sgt. John HOYT and Frances TEWKSBURY.

"On June 26, 1683, (Naomi) traveled to Salem to attend court where she confessed to conceiving an illegitimate child and named Benjamin Abbot as the father. Lovejoy was ordered to pay court fees and an unspecified fine and dismissed. Abbot, in contrast, was conspicuous by his absence in the court room. Some nine months after Naomi Lovejoy's court appearance, local magistrate Nathaniel Saltonstall noted in his journal that Thomas Chandler, Benjamin Abbot's maternal uncle, had acknowledged Abbot's paternity by paying his forty shilling fine. The sentence was then dropped, leaving Abbot free to resume his customary life."
