Events: Around 07 JAN 1836 Nathan Sweat was convicted in Appling Co. for cattle stealing, sentenced to 4 yrs. in Milledgeville Penitentary. After that the Governor issued a proclamation for Nathan Sweat when he escaped from the Telfair Co. jail after conviction for cattle stealing in Appling Co, GA. On 30 NOV 1837 he was pardoned for said crime.
