Note: NATHANIEL McCALL and MARY JOHNSON are Pamela's 3rd great-grandparents.

Nathaniel McCALL moved to Wilcox County, Alabama, per his purchase of land in said county and a form he filled out thusly:

No. 22558 Land-Office, Cahaba (Alabama), 04 May 1835

It is hereby certified that in pursuance of law, NATHANIEL McCALL, of Darlington County, South Carolina, on this day, purchased of the Register of the Land-Office, the Lot or Southeast quarter and East half of the South West Quarter of Section No 6, Township No. 11, Range No. 8 containing 239.85 acres, at the rate of $1.25 dollars per acre, amounting to $299.81, for which Lot the said Nathaniel McCall has made full payment as required by law:

Now, therefore, be it known, that on presentation of this certificate to the commissioner of the General Land-Office, the said Nathaniel McCall shall be entitled to receive a Patent for the Lot above described.

The issue date on all four Wilcox County, Alabama property purchases was 10 Apr 1837 and totals 438.9 acres. The information has been about the same on all of them.

On 1 April 1815 Nathaniel McCall sold to Charles McCall for $25 350 acres bounded on the west by Jonathan Griner's land, bounded on the north by George McCall's land and bounded on the south by Jesse Slater's land.

Witnesses: John Burnett and David Kennedy. Recorded 1 June 1815 in Bulloch County, Georgia.

I have been unable to locate either Mary Johnson McCall nor Nathaniel McCall's final resting places to date. It's always possible they were buried back in his native South Carolina or perhaps in Georgia.
