Nic Oosthuizen (1933 - 2019)

Brief overview:

Nic (86), was attacked on his cattle and maize farm Bronkhorstfontein, on 12th July 2019. This followed after burglars broke into the five garages on his farm Bronkhorstfontein on Saturday night. Two days later he died of a heart attack.

A number of items were stolen and the Mercedes was severely damaged in one of the garages. He lived on the farm for 40 years and was attacked by four men on his farm six weeks ago, during which they stole cattle, but he survived.

He also had four other burglaries on the farm. According to Mr. Oosthuizen's partner and girlfriend of 14 years, Gerrie Heymans, thinks this was just one too many when he arrived at the garage the next morning. He died of a heart attack next to his bakkie. A worker on the farm found him and called Gerrie, but he was already dead.

Mr. Oosthuizen's funeral service was held on Friday, July 19, as his son Theo, had to come from the US to attend his father's service. Mr. Oosthuizen leaves behind his partner, Gerrie Heymans, his two sons Theo and Vivian and daughter Licia Badenhorst.
