About Nina Margarite Dickerson
Nina Margarite Dickerson, 87, of Paris,TX went to be with her Savior on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family receives friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born June 16, 1918, in Kensington, Kan., the daughter of William Harold and Ida Clara Eberline Roth. She moved to Paris in 1929, where she joined Immanuel Baptist Church and was a member for more than 50 years. She was active in the W.M.U. and taught a young people’s Sunday school class. She was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday school class. A very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she took pride in her garden and loved doing crafts and decorating. She was an expert seamstress. She married Odis Glenn Dickerson on June 26, 1936, and he preceded her in death in January 1992.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, Gerald Glenn Dickerson and Chris Duane Dickerson.
She is survived by two daughters, Camilla Beth Bryant of Dallas, and Carole Woodard and husband, Ricky, of Blossom; grandchildren, Glenn Dickerson of Temple, Kip and Toni Hines of Flower Mound, Angie and Steve Crozier of San Antonio, Brett Dickerson of Temple, Rob and Laura VanWinkle of West Palm Beach, Fla., Missy and Chris Castleberry of Austin, Pat Dickerson of Austin and Alisha and John Carroll of Frisco; 14 great-grandchildren, Tabatha and Megan Hines, Ashley Malone, Collin, Kaleigh, and Cade Crozier, John-John and Logan Carroll, Dusti and Keelee VanWinkle, Alyssa Castleberry, Emily and Rayne Dickerson, Mikayla Dickerson; and a special friend whom she loved like a daughter, Jackie Robinson.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
