Prominent Businessman and Pretty Fiancee Have Large Circle of Friends

Austin Carrington Scott is receiving the congratulations of his friends upon his engagement to Miss Nina Crittenden, although there has been no formal announcement of the betrothal. The little . romance has been carefully guarded. ""but gossip has been busy for some time with the names of the popular young bachelor and his pretty fiancee. Miss Crittenden is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Love Crittenden and comes of an. old and distinguished family. The Crittenden home is in Oakland, but the only daughter of the house passes much of her time in this city, where she has a host of friends. She is dark and has a piquant beauty which reveals her southern ancestry, with the dark eyes and olive skin that distinguishes many of the Virginia girls.

Scott is a son of the" Harrison Scotts of Virginia and is a grandson of Judge Robinson and a nephew of the late Mrs. Monroe Salisbury. He is related to several of the prominent families in California and Virginia, being a distant relative of the Crittenden family. He is prominent in business and club circles in this city.

No date has been mentioned for the wedding, but it will probably be an event of the summer.
