Noah Emery Dies At 59: A 59-year-old Bedford native, Noah A. "Toad" Emery of 1613 Ninth street, died at 4:00 a. m. today at the Cold Springs Road Veterans Hospital at Indianapolis after a lengthy illness and hospitalization.

He was born to J. W. and Lavina J. Ault Emery in 1892 and married Norma Thomas.

Mr. Emery was a member of Gillen Post 33, American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I, enlisting on June 2, 1917, and serving to July 9, 1919. He saw overseas service and was rated as a cook.

Surviving are his wife and three children, Mrs. Nadine Schofield of Bedford, Mrs. Margaret Mount of Indianapolis, and Roland Emery of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Williams, Mrs. Fred Cornwell and, Mrs. Louis Lenz, all of Bedford; and one brother, Ira Emery of Indianapolis.

Funeral arrangements will be announced Wednesday by the Day & Carter Mortuary.
