About Oda von Stade
Oda von Babenberg? Parents uncertain.
Probably not Vladimir’s wife. Oda’s mother was daughter of a brother of emperor Heinrich III by a sister of pope Leo IX. If Oda were their daughter, she would have been "filia germani imperatoris Henrici" indeed! The problem however is that Vladimir most probably never married this girl. The identity of his wife is unknown.
The marriage is widely given (see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~greenefamily/lape/pafg36.htm), but the dates appear impossible (Oda is said to have been born 1023). Could be a different Oda, of course, or a different Vladimir.
The Annales Stadenses name "Odam sanctimonialem de Rinthelen" as daughter of "Lippoldo filio domiine Glismodis" and "Ida [de Elsthorpe]", specifying that she married "regi Ruzie" by whom she had a son "Warteslaw", returned to Saxony with her son after her husband died, and there was mother of "filiam Aliarinam, matrem comitis Burchardi de Lucken" who later killed "lantgravius Hermannus de Wincenburg", although a later passage specifies that Ida was mother of "Akarinam matrem Burchardi de Lucken”. It has not been possible to verify this.
The name of Vladimir´s wife is not known. Baumgarten identifies the wife of Vladimir as Oda, daughter of Luitpold Graf von Stade & his wife Ida von Elstorf [Brunswick]
