Ole Olsen Simonsbekk

The Hem family is wondering if Ole Olsen changed his name to John or Tom Hem when he came to the States. Grandchildren remember an Uncle Tom (from Kansas City?) and an Uncle John. Also perhaps an Aunt Mary Hem?

Records show an "Ole Olsen Hem" in Pepin, Wisconsin. He was born about 1857. His wife was Mabel and his son was Richard.

There is another Ole Hem in the 1900 Census, born in Sept. 1864, immigrating in 1882 and living in Maiden Rock, Pierce, Wisconsin. His occupation was a fisherman at that time.
