About Lars Olsson Langkaas
1865 census for Langkaas, Saude:

1910 census for Haug, Saude:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01036527001893
(Note: The 1910 census states that Lars was born in 1875; however, Lars' wife and children have the right names and dates. It appears that Lars and family stayed in Norway and did not immigrate to the U.S.)
-------------------------------------
Aunt Clarice Meredith remembers an Uncle John and an Uncle Tom, a little older than HO and in Kansas City. Perhaps Lars and Ole Olsen changed their names to John and Tom when they arrived in the States.
A Lars Olsen immigrated to New York City 6/4/1884. His pre-paid passage certificate was bought on 3/17/1884. Further research may reveal that the passenger ship was the Furnessia or the Hohenstaufen.
He was christened 12/03/1865.
