About Olga Heifetz

Birth https://www.genteam.at/index.php?option=com_gesamt

Olga, pianist and music teacher born in Vienna, married George Szell in 1920, and after their divorce she married the violinist Josef Wolfsthal in 1929. Josef, who descended from the Wolfsthal family of musicians of Galicia died at a very young age two years later. Olga came to the United States in 1937, where she married musician Benar Heifetz. From her marriage with Wolfsthal, Olga brought a young daughter to the marriage with Heifetz.

The manifests of alien passengers entering the US in the years 1937-1938 record two arrivals of Olga to the US - the first one in 1937, and the second in 1938. The first entry to the US was done alone with a passport that was issued on August 24, 1936, in Buenos Aires. Right after her arrival in 1937, Olga married Benar Heifetz. In her second arrival, Olga already carried the surname Heifetz and was joined by her daughter Susan.

A list of German Jews drawn up by local German authorities after WW2 according to Allied Forces' orders, shows Olga residing in Munich sometime between 1931 (year of Josef's death in Berlin) and 1937 (year of Olga's arrival to the USA).
