Oma Fuller, 92, of Chicago, formerly of Pierson, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Sunrise Manor in Sioux City. Services were held at Meadow Star United Methodist Church, rural Washta, Iowa, with the Rev. Bill Cotten officiating. Burial followed in Grand Meadow Cemetery, under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley. Oma was born March 28, 1909, in rural Washta, the daughter of Earl and Emma (Baker) Fuller. She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1927. She worked several years in Sioux City before moving to Chicago. While in Chicago, she was employed with Ohmite Electronics. She returned to Iowa in 1997, and resided at the Sunrise Retirement Center in Sioux City. She was a member of Meadow Star United Methodist Church. Oma loved to travel by bus. She visited most of the lower 48 states and collected plates of every state she visited. She was an avid photographer. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Joan Fuller of Pierson; a nephew and his wife, Robert and Nicolette Fuller of Johannesburg, South Africa; a niece, Karen Bland of Albany, Oregon; and a nephew, Earl Fuller III of Lenexa, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Earl Jr., Marlin and Beryl Fuller; a sister, Verna Merlik; a niece, Marjorie Ruth Fuller; and a nephew, David Fuller.
