Obituary- "Opal Marie Saari, 96, of Uniontown, Fayette Co., Pa., passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004. Prior to living in Uniontown, Opal and her husband were residents of Pittsburg, Kansas. She was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Morgantown, W.Va., the daughter of Elizabeth Frum and Uriah Griffith. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, George John Saari in 2001, after 74 years of marriage.

She was one of nine children. Her deceased brothers are Mellville, John and James Griffith. Her deceased sisters are Dean Williams, Mayme Asiel, Valerie Griffith, Cathryn Carpenter and Mary Longanecker. Her one sister-in-law, Bertha Saari Good also preceded Opal in death.

Her only son, Eugene Griffith Saari, Engineer, died in November, 1956, in Venezuela, South America in a job-related accident.

Opal was a member of Uniontown Chapter Number 263 O.E.S., of Uniontown, and the Asbury United Methodist Church."
