About Orlando Jones
Orlando Jones was the original owner of a home and office in Colonial Williamsburg. He was the son of Rev. Rowland Jones, first rector of Bruton Parish in Williamsburg, and the grandfather of Martha Washington. Orlando also owned land in York and King William counties, and represented the latter several times in the House of Burgesses.

After Frances' mother, Anne died, she went to live with her father's sister, Frances Jones Dandridge, whose husband was Col. John Dandridge, the parents of Martha Dandridge, who married George Washington. (JD by Axford p iv)
Here lies in hope of a Blessed Resurrection the Body of Mr. Orlando Jones Son of Mr. ROWLAND JONES, some time Minister of this Parish he was born December ye 31st 1681 and Died June ye 12th 1719 in ye 38th year of his age. He twice Married his first wife was Mrs. MARTHA MACON Daughter of Mr. GIDEON MACON of New-Kent by whom he left one Son named LANE & one Daughter Named FRANCES, his Second Wife was Mrs. MARY WILLIAMS Daughter of JAMES WILLIAMS of King & Queen County, who Erected this Monument to his Memory.
