Obituary- Oscar W. Sayre, 89, of Rock Cave, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Holly Grove, W.Va., the son of the late Clee O. and Orpha (Woody) Sayre.
He was united in marriage Jan. 25, 1939, to Maxine (Reger) Sayre, of Rock Cave, who survives. In addition to his wife, he was survived by two granddaughters: Jane and husband Bill Rocky, Beverly and husband Mickey Metz, a great-grandson, and two great-granddaughters. A brother, Troy Sayre, of French Creek, and several nieces and nephews survive him as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kyle G. Sayre and a grandson; Kyle Neal Sayre. Two brothers and four sisters are also deceased. Mr. Sayre owned several acres in Holly Grove area. He was a farmer and a member of the Canaan Community Church. Burial was at the Pleasant Dale Cemetery in Selbyville.
